Thursday Drool: The Piquant Moonrise Kingdom

Ever wonder what Revival Shopgirls drool over? This week it is Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom -available to view NO WHERE in the state of Iowa :(. So instead, we dream and drool...

In true Wes Anderson fashion, Moonrise Kingdom, his latest endeavor, looks rich and beautifully detailed. Saturated colors, arch characters with moustaches and dry wits, and impecable retro fashion are Anderson's calling cards. As a fan of all three of these things, this Revival Shopgirl has been eagerly awaiting Moonrise Kingdom for months.

But alas, fancy-schmancy limited release means no Moonrise Kingdom anywhere in Iowa. :( Reason #457 why downtown Iowa City needs an awesome movie theater.

So, instead, we will just have to drool, drool, drool.

I totally agree that "growing old isn't for sissies...its for the strong." I will be 60…Read More on my next birthday and although I am not looking forward to leaving my 50's, I must admitt that each year comes with a more calming sensibility to it. I see things more clearly now even though forgetfulness is a daily occurance. The laughter of the children is much prettier and the birds chirping is welcoming instead of a nuisence at 5AM.
