The Future of Surveillance, and How to Stop It
Reviewing the history of the Fourth Amendment, it turns out that "The NSA’s surveillance of the American people today is the electronic equivalent of one of the grievances that drove our founding fathers to the revolution we commemorate every July 4th."
The Iowa City "Restore the Fourth" folks ("Fourth" as in 4th Amendment) held a rally on the Ped Mall yesterday (Aug. 4) at which I was invited to speak.
It provided an incentive and opportunity to summarize, organize and present some of my recent thoughts about the NSA's domestic surveillance programs.
Here is the full text of the remarks delivered on that occasion: "The Future of Surveillance, and How to Stop It."
