ICPL Provides Local Music Downloads at No Charge: Iowa City Public Library Recommends

Every Friday we will be featuring some Staff Picks from the Iowa City Public Library that you can check out on the weekend. This week, John Hiett, senior librarian, recommends you enjoy some free music downloads.

Every week we feature new staff picks by the staff.

This week, we're changing things up a little bit by talking to John Hiett, senior librarian at the Iowa City Public Library, about the library's local music project.

Hiett said that if you're an Iowa City resident, or Johnson County resident that contracts with the library, and you have a library card, you can sign into the library website here and download albums of local music. For you to keep. For free.

Hiett said the project has been successful so far, and the library could look into adding another round of local artists later on.

You can learn more about other staff picks at the Iowa City library by visiting their Staff Picks blog. For some other book suggestions, check out the suggestions in our Iowa Patch Book Club discussion. This week we're asking people .
