I grew up in New Hampshire, but I have lived in Iowa since 2001, and Iowa City since 2003. I have worked in journalism for six years covering higher education, city government and business. I have been involved in investigative projects, I have covered RAGBRAI as an embedded reporter five times and paddled down the Iowa River for three days to report on the condition of the river. I have many different interests: spending time with my family, hiking, biking, paddling, cooking, craft beers, writing, college and pro sports. I used to work as a professional chef, I've traveled to 49 of the 50 states and teach a backpacking course at the University of Iowa.
