Rats are incredibly smart and train well. I had one when I was in college that was paper trainedRead More and came when "called" with a tapping on a table or glass... Never bit me once, unlike the many hamsters and gerbils I've met...

If you watch the video you'll notice that when she gives one of the rat treats, instead of eating itRead More right away, the rat takes it, stashes it for later, then comes back for another treat. She then repeats this again and again. Pretty cool.

William Laubengayer of Coralville, Iowa has been helping build houses with Iowa Valley Habitat forRead More Humanity for almost all of the affiliate’s existence. Donating many hours out of his days, even outside of the normal construction hours to install locks and make window packs, William has been a vital part of the organization and is valued by many. William describes himself as “just another guy with a hammer,” but to many people, he is a friend, a role model, and much more. Aside from Habitat for Humanity, William also volunteers hours of his time at the Police Station, the Coralville Theater, the City of Coralville, and other areas in the community.

Von Miller of Iowa City, Iowa has helped build a large number of houses with Habitat for Humanity.Read More While Von is not busy volunteering with Table to Table, spending time with his family, or volunteering in his church and other community areas, he is spending countless hours building houses. From Iowa Valley Habitat’s foundation in the early 90’s, Von has worked on over 70 houses to date. Von, being very modest, doesn’t think much about all the work he puts into Habitat for Humanity, but without him, many houses wouldn’t be built and many families wouldn’t have homes.
