VIDEO: Meet Peabody, Patch.com's Adopt this Pet of the Week

Every Saturday, Patch.com will feature an animal from the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Shelter that is in need of a good home. In this week's installment, meet Peabody, a cute little bunny that likes exploring and does mind being picked up.

Update (Oct. 25): Peabody has molted since I did this story. As you can see from the photo, his fur is now pure white with black markings. No more urine stains for you, my young bunny friend!

Meet Peabody the bunny. Peabody sports an unusual looking coat of white speckled with brown. The bad news is that, according to volunteers at the animal shelter, this is likely because his previous owner kept him a cage improperly below another bunny and he was stained by urine. The good news that Peabody should eventually molt his fur, revealing a pristine white coat.

Despite his origins, Peabody is well litter trained and a fastidously clean rabbit. He is also adventurous type who likes to scoot around looking for nooks, and unlike many bunnies, he does not mind being picked up and held for short durations.
