VIDEO: Meet George, Iowa City Patch's Adopt this Pet of the Week (Adopted)

Every Saturday, Patch.com will feature an animal from the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Shelter that is in need of a good home. In this week's installment, meet George, an energetic lab with a few tricks up his sleeve.

Liz Ford, animal care technician as the Iowa City Animal Shelter, introduces us to George, a black lab retriever mix who boasts an even better handshake than most people have. Ford says George is energetic, and a quick learner, and has greatly benefited from training with volunteers. She says he has already learned tricks such as shake and roll over, as well as more practical maneuvers like sit and stay.

For more information on adopting George, you can call the Animal Shelter at: (319) 356-5295. Or visit the shelter at 4852 Sand Rd SE.
