Meet Mimi and Moe, Two Young Finches Looking for a Good Caretaker (Adopted)

Add some finches to your life!

Interested in acquiring some animal companions that could live more than a decade?

Do you have $10?

If so, Mimi and Moe the bonded finches could be yours. Charlotte Tobiason, program director at the Iowa City Animal Shelter introduces us to the pair of one-year-old finches that came to the shelter after their owner became too ill to care for them.

Tobiason said the finches are bonded together meaning they must be adopted as a pair. They should likely live another 10 years based on average finch lifespan with good care. Tobiason said unlike other birds, finches are to be kept their cage and do not enjoy being handled.

For more information on adopting Mimi and Moe you can call the Animal Shelter at: (319) 356-5295. Or visit the shelter at 4852 Sand Rd SE.
