Media Release

Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center announces the 2013 Trick or Treat Dash, a 5K and 1 mile Family Fun Run that will be held on Sunday, October 27th at Squaw Creek Park in Marion. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume for the costume contest, and trick or treat will be provided along the course. Bring a carved pumpkin for a chance to win a prize. Children of all ages are encouraged to bring their families for a great warm-up to Halloween.

The event’s 2013 Honorary Chair is Kelli Jensen, who has been taking therapeutic horseback riding sessions at Miracles in Motion for eight years. As the top 5K fundraiser for the past three years, Kelli said it is because, “Mike (her first horse) likes to eat.” She plans to walk and run with her friends, in costume, on October 27th.

“Kelli has received astounding benefits in her strength and sense of balance, as well as a more outgoing nature since she became involved with Miracles. Her verbal skills have increased dramatically,” said Kelli’s mother, Colleen Jensen, of Dunkerton. She explained that Kelli’s ability to participate in equestrian activities has expanded and she is now involved with the Special Olympics Equestrian Events.
