On March 10, 2012, friends of the ICCSD-Goodwill Garden will be hosting a volunteer Garden Clean-Up Day from 10 am – 2 pm.
The ICCSD-Goodwill Garden is entering its 4th growing season, and we’re looking forward to another beautiful, productive year. The garden was creat...ed in 2008 as a space for students at the ICCSD Transition Services Center and clients at Goodwill of the Heartland to cultivate an appreciation for nature and establish a lifelong hobby. Our goal this year, as always, is to make the garden a place that everyone, in their own capacity, can enjoy and contribute to the success of.
All are welcome- we will have plenty of small and large projects for all ages, knowledge, and ability levels. We’ll be clearing some of last year’s growth, prepping planters and beds, starting seeds in the greenhouse, putting rabbit fencing up, and gathering ideas and inspiration for the coming season. We will have supplies and tools on hand, but feel free to bring your own.
Volunteers should park in the Goodwill parking lot on First Avenue in Iowa City, the garden is located behind the building just south of the SouthEast Junior High and the railroad tracks.
