Election turnout so far is ranking slightly ahead of the Johnson County Supervisor Election as of 6:00 p.m.

From Johnson County Auditor Travis Weipert, the 6:00 p.m. turnout is in:

This is up from 3,423 votes for the Board of Supervisors election.

The turn out numbers are still coming in for the Johnson County Justice Center special election and so far Johnson County Auditor Travis Weipert has the numbers slightly ahead of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors special election on March 5, 2013.

As of the 3:00 p.m. turnout count that has been finalized, 4,408 voters had already voted in the election in the county, with 2,202 of Iowa City 4.63 percent of the population. This is higher than the county's total of 1,902 voters at the same time in the Board of Supervisors election.

Voting is open until 8:00 p.m. More details about polling places and sample ballot info here. The measure requires a 60 percent approval rate to pass.
