The City High String Quintet was invited to participate in Mount Mercy University’s inaugural String Quartet Festival
in partnership with the Five Seasons Chamber Music Festival.

This festival, held Friday, April 5 at Mount Mercy University focused on high school chamber players. The goal was to gather a group of ensembles that are particularly interested in preparing and performing high-quality chamber music in an atmosphere that is both fun and musically rewarding.

The City High Quintet participated in an afternoon of clinics and coaching by Mount Mercy resident Five Season Chamber Festival faculty. The Five Seasons coaches provided the quintet with individual coaching sessions throughout the afternoon. Literature included a selection played by all participants during the festival concert.

The day culminated with an evening concert featuring performances by each school’s chamber group, the chamber orchestra, and the Five Seasons Chamber Music Ensemble in the Chapel of Mercy.

The City High String Quintet consists of Juju Wang-violin, Anna Kaldjian-violin, Sophia Opitz-viola,  Boris Perkhounkov-cello and Doron Tsachor-cello. Other schools that participated include: Linn-Mar, Kennedy, Jefferson and Washington High School.
