Four Candidates to Interview to be Dean of Iowa's Liberal Arts Program

University of Iowa will bring four candidates to campus to interview to become the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences dean.

will bring four candidates to campus to interview to become the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the school announced today.

The names of each candidate will be announced two days prior to the visit. The first candidate will appear on campus on Thursday. Each candidate will give a public address on this topic: "What do you perceive to be the unique value of a liberal arts education in a Research I university?"

The remaining candidates will appear on campus in April with the final candidate set for a public presentation on April 18.

Longtime dean Linda Maxson is stepping down in June after a 15 year tenure leading Iowa's largest college.

All candidate presentations are scheduled for 4 to 5 p.m., with a reception to follow from 5 to 6 p.m.
