Daily Iowan Editor-in-Chief Steps Down; New Editor Will Formally Take the Reins this Summer

The Daily Iowan announced that its current editor, Adam Sullivan, was stepping down due to "personnel issues."

Current Daily Iowan Editor-in-Chief Adam Sullivan resigned yesterday, according to a story published today by the University of Iowa's college newspaper.

Sullivan reportedly is leaving due to unspecified "personnel issues." His position will be filled in tandem by current DI staffers Hayley Bruce and Sam Lane until the new editor, Emily Busse, takes over this summer as was previously scheduled.

"It's a very unfortunate situation," publisher Bill Casey said, in the DI story. "But I have full confidence that Hayley and Sam will continue The Daily Iowan's traditions."

When Patch inquired, Bruce said this is all the information the Daily Iowan plans to release at the moment. Sullivan, when contacted, also had no comment.

Sullivan was named new editor of the Daily Iowan almost exactly one year ago.
