Back to School: Some University of Iowa Return Week Events

Iowa City is about to get about 30,000 people bigger. See what the University has ready to welcome them.

The University of Iowa is back in session next week, and that means Iowa City is getting prepared to greet a whole lot of new faces.

As noted in a previous article, this will cause traffic changes, to allow the students to move into the dorms.

On the east side, Clinton Street will be closed to one-way traffic going south from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16, beginning at the corner of Church and Dubuque streets and continuing on Clinton Street until Bloomington. The west side will be through traffic, and the east side will be for those who are unloading. All the meters on Clinton Street will be blocked these two days as well.
