With Ron Paul Aside Will Iowa City Republicans Rally Around Romney?

Ron Paul won 31 percent of the vote in Johnson County in the 2012 caucuses.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul sent an email to supporters today saying he's scaling back his presidential campaign.

"Moving forward ... we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have."

Ron Paul was the second vote-getter in Johnson County for the 2012 Iowa caucuses. His 31 percent support -- much of which was from student-heavy precincts -- was just shy of Mitt Romney's 34 percent support in Johnson County.
