Voter Turnout Low So Far in Iowa City, Johnson County

Early turnout results suggest a light turnout for today's primary election, even compared to traditionally light primary election standards. The good news is that means your vote counts even more.


The turnout in today's Johnson County election has been light so far, according to a news release from the Johnson County auditor.

As of 11:00 a.m. Election Day turnout in at the polls in Johnson County was 1309 total votes, the lowest morning primary election turnout in the last four years, except for 2008, which tallied just 719 votes by 11:00 a.m.

This will be combined with the 1491 absentee ballots that were received as of Monday, according to the release.
