Is Newt Gingrich the Kim Kardashian of the Republican party?

Does he mean that Newt is like a voluptuous woman who is ultra famous for no good reason? No, his argument centers on the publicized failed marriages of both Kardashian and Gingrich as proof of a lack of respect for the institution of marriage. Gingrich, who has been married three times and admitted adultery, has baggage from his past that seems to be among Republican women. Kardashian, infamously, was married to husband Kris Humphries for only 72 days before seeking a separation.

A tenuous parallel maybe, but more importantly a sign that the gloves are coming off as Gingrich continues to lead in the polls, and outside parties like Mitchell will be used to throw the heaviest punches.

Yet somehow these same messages from extreme quarters will make their way into the mainstream. Jennifer Jacobs of the Des Moines Register reports that conservative activist Rev. Cary Gordon of Sioux City, who has vouched support for Rick Santorum, is promising to pass the web link on to “every registered Republican or non-aligned Iowa voter with a cell phone on record.”
