Johnson County Voting Results from Caucus Night

A rundown of voting results here in Johnson County.

Johnson County is hardly a Republican stronghold, but it clearly can make a difference on election night.

Mitt Romney was the winner of Johnson County in last night's Iowa Republican Caucus vote.

Of 4,708 votes cast by Johnson County residents, Romney collected 1,604 votes. Ron Paul finished second with 1,445. Rick Santorum finished a distant third at 746. Newt Gingrich placed fourth with 476 votes.

Iowa City had 71 delegates up for grabs, and the county had 153.

Iowa City was scheduled to host 25 Republican caucus sites. Johnson County  hosted 57 GOP caucus sites in total.
