City of Iowa City Warns of Potential for Flooding Overnight in Johnson County
The potential for rain, possibly a lot of of it, has the National Weather Service and city officials warning of the chance of flooding, both flash flooding and flooding from rising waterways.

The National Weather Service has indicated that the potential exists for another 2 to 5 inches of rain in the Johnson County area this evening and overnight along with a strong potential for flash flooding on local streams and drainage ways.
Individuals are reminded to take caution. Do not walk through moving water or drive through flooded areas. Stay alert and be aware of streams, drainage channels or other areas that can flood suddenly. If you live in a flood prone area, you should be prepared to take precautionary measures.

The Army Corps of Engineers is closely monitoring water levels at the Coralville Reservoir and will adjust outflows as conditions require.
