Tiffin Man on Motorcycle Killed After Colliding with Iowa City Driver's SUV

A Tiffin man on a motorcycle was killed, and a female passenger on the bike was injured, after the man collided with an Iowa City woman's sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Highway 6 and Main Street in Tiffin Wednesday night.

A motorcycle collision with a sport utility vehicle in Tiffin Wednesday night resulted in a man's death, according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol.

According to the crash report, Elizabeth Sue Colony, 23, of Iowa City was traveling west on Highway 6 through Tiffin in her SUV at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday and making a left turn on Main Street. This caused her to turn in front of a motorcycle driven by Ryan Kelly Johnson, 20, of Tiffin, who also had a passenger, Hannah Nicole Tedell, 21, of Dixon on the vehicle.

Johnson's motorcycle collided with the passenger side of Colony's vehicle. Johnson and Tedell were taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where Johnson later died, according to the report.

Neither Johnson nor Tedell wore helmets at the time of the collision, according to the report.

The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
