Sex Offender Charged with Indecent Exposure in College Green Park

The man allegedly exposed himself to park goers over the lunch hour Tuesday afternoon.

A sex offender with a previous offense toward children got himself into more trouble Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to College Green Park Tuesday afternoon after hearing complaints that there was a man exposing his genitalia to them. Officers said they found the man there, Kelly Lee Wade, 41, of Coralville, pulling his pants up when they arrived at 12:41 p.m.

Witnesses at the park said Wade had been exposing his erect penis for approximately a half an hour in the park to people nearby.

Wade was then arrested and charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor. Police then found that he was a previous sex offender with an offense toward children, and his proximity to a playground in the park was a felony violation of his sex offender registration.

Wade has two previous indecent exposure charges and also failed to comply with the sex offender registry in 2006, according to criminal complaints.
