Police: Woman's Phone Forcibly Stolen by Man in Backwards Cap

The "strong-arm robbery" was reportedly committed by a white male wearing a backwards baseball cap in the Bowery area.


The Iowa City Police are looking for more information on a robbery that was reported about an hour ago on Bowery Street.

According to a media release, at 10:49 p.m. the Iowa City Police Department responded to the 600 block of Bowery for a report of a "strong armed robbery."

The woman in that area told police that she had been grabbed by an unknown man who took her cell phone and fled the scene on foot. The man is described as a white male wearing a white shirt and a white baseball hat on backwards. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275.
