Police: Burglary Suspect Unrobes from Incriminating Shorts While Fleeing Officers

The shorts were later found with multiple stolen items found in them.

A Sioux City man is charged multiple burglary charges after he was allegedly caught in the act of stealing from cars parked along Oakcrest Street.

According to criminal complaints, on Monday, Sept. 3 at 12:19 a.m. a witness reported that a suspicious man was seen near a vehicle at the 800 block of Oakcrest Street. Upon realizing he was in trouble, the man left the car door open and fled as officers "saturated the area." At this point, a second call was received of a man with a knife in his hand.

After a search by police, officers were able to find the man, later identified as Cole Steven Huisenga, 19, of Sioux City, at the 700 block of Oakcrest Street. The officers reportedly identified themselves to Huisenga as officers and told him to stop, but he fled before being stopped three blocks away.
