Police: Muscatine Woman Found Intoxicated, Allegedly Kicked Officer in the Face

The woman was reportedly found lying on a park bench at the intersection of Washington and Dubuque Streets.

 

A Muscatine woman allegedly did not go quietly into a police car after she was arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday evening.

According to criminal complaints, Katherine Joanne Brooker, 31, of Muscatine was found intoxicated, lying on a park bench at 6:39 Tuesday evening at the intersection of Washington and Dubuque Streets. On contact with officers, Brooker had slurred speech and could not answer simple questions.

Police say the Brooker  resisted being handcuffed and refused walking to the police car. Once in the car, Brooker, on her back at the time, allegedly kicked a police officer in the face.

For this, Brooker faces charges of public intoxication, interference with official acts, and assault on a police officer. She had a blood-alcohol content of .283 after arrest, according to the criminal complaint.
