Police: Man Stalks Former Girlfriend, Texts Her Threatening Photos with Him Holding Guns

The man was charged with a felony and several misdemeanors after breaking a domestic no-contact order and sending photos of himself holding guns to the woman.

An Iowa City man was arrested and charged for felony stalking after he allegedly threatened a woman and repeatedly breached a domestic no-contact order.

According to Iowa City Police criminal complaints, at 7:56 a.m. on May 8 Tahmir Wade Allen, 22, of Iowa City texted a woman, who he had been charged with abusing, a photo of himself holding a handgun with his finger on the trigger along with text saying: "this is what I'm going to do to you for snitching on me."

On May 11, at 11:27 a.m. he sent the woman another text with him holding a "long gun or rifle with his finger on the trigger," according to the complaint. These texts were part of dozens of texts that Allen continued to send the woman after the no-contact order was already established.

Allen continued to text the woman multiple occasions despite having a protective no contact order placed on him due to the previous domestic dispute. The woman told police that she was afraid of Allen.

Allen was arrested on Monday and charged with domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury, a serious misdemeanor; four counts of violating his no-contact protection order, all misdemeanors; and a second-offense stalking charge, a class D felony. He currently is in the Johnson County Jail on $50,000 bond.
