Police: Iowa City Woman Deemed Too Drunk For Bikini Wax, Attacks Employee with Towel
Police accuse an Iowa City woman of attacking a Zender's employee with a towel after she was declared too drunk for a bikini wax.
A 39-year-old Iowa City woman is accused by police of attacking a Zender's employee with a towel Monday afternoon, after the employee refused to give the woman a bikini wax because the turned-away customer was drunk.
Police charged Anna Katherine Bacon-Silveira with assault and intoxication, both simple misdemeanors, after they caught her on foot running from the scene of the altercation.
According to criminal complaints, Bacon-Silveira went to Zender's at 4 S. Linn St. at 1:07 p.m. Monday and requested a bikini wax. When the staff, noticing Bacon-Silveira was drunk, refused to perform this service, an incensed Bacon-Silveira snapped a towel at one of the Zender's employees, and then fled the scene, police said.
