Police: Iowa City Man Arrested for Allegedly Possessing Five Pounds of Marijuana in Residence

Police arrested an Iowa City man Sunday evening and confiscated multiple pounds of the drug located throughout his residence.

An Iowa City man was arrested Sunday evening with more than $40,000 worth of marijuana in his residence.

According to criminal complaints, Iowa City police executed a search warrant at 1716 E. Court in Iowa City on 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening. There they say they found five pounds of marijuana throughout the residence and bedroom, plus a digital scale, cash and packaging materials.

With the street price of , that places the value of five pounds of marijuana at roughly $45,000.

The occupant of the residence, Matthew Rowbotham, 24, of Iowa City was charged with keeping drugs in a residence, possession of drug paraphernalia, a drug tax-stamp violation and felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
