Police: Iguana's Grill Owner Accused of Making Unwanted Sexual Advances Toward Woman

The Hills man is accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward the woman on "a routine basis."

The owner of Iguana's Grill in North Liberty is facing an accusation that he made unwanted sexual advances toward a woman who was in his restaurant.

According to an iowa City Police criminal complaint, on May 5 at 10:00 p.m. a woman and reported being near the bar at the restaurant at 555 Highway 965 as it was approaching closing time along with Luis Alfonso Perez, 46, of Hills, identified by the complaint as the owner of Iguana's.

The woman told police that Perez reach between her legs and touched her inner thigh and genitals over her underwear without her consent, according to the complaint. The woman and an additional witness also told police that Perez them smelled his hand afterward. Perez allegedly then continued to make it clear that he would like to have with the woman and made more sexual advances toward her, as he had allegedly done "on a routine basis."

Perez was charged with assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse with no injury. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 4:26 a.m. this morning and released at 9:30 a.m. according to online jail records.
