Police: Coralville Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Iowa City Police Department issued a release Friday night that a Coralville man was killed earlier that evening due to a single vehicle motorcycle accident.

Iowa City Police and Fire, Johnson County Ambulance and University Heights Police all responded to the scene of the accident at the 600 block of Highway 6 West in Iowa City, according to the release. The report they received was of a vehicle collision involving one motorcycle.

The driver has been identified as Jonathan Allen Hintz, 28, or Coralville. Although police say Hintz had been wearing his helmet at the time of the accident and was transported to the University of Iowa Emergency Trauma Center by authorities, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing and is being handled by the Iowa City Police.
