Marijuana and Some Thefts: Iowa City Police Blotter, Jan. 10

A Burlington man was arrested this morning and charged with felony marijuana possession with intent to deliver.

David Michael Turner, 20 was charged with the crime after being arrested at 1:08 a.m. at 538 S. Gilbert Street.

According to a criminal complaint, on Jan. 10 officers were on foot patrol in the area of 500 S.. Gilbert. when they spotted Turner allegedly throw something away from his body. Officers apprehended Turner, and accompanied by him, they recovered a baggie containing several individually wrapped baggies of marijuana. Police say Turner admitted to having the marijuana on his person and tossing it away. He also had $126 found in his backpack, plus packaging materials and several cell phones.
