Man Stopped for Allegedly Drunk Driving Charged with Dealing Drugs: Iowa City Police Blotter, Jan. 29.

An Iowa City man stopped for erratic driving at 1:57 a.m. on Jan. 28 at the Interstate 80 North Dubuque St. overpass was charged with drug possession and intent to sell drugs after an officer searched his vehicle and allegedly found Adderall pills and a tupperware container full of marijuana.

Police say Mark Robert Plath, 19, of 2832 Bradford Dr., Iowa City was stopped due to his driving at a high rate of speed and erratic steering, as an officer witnessed him hitting the curb several times, according to the criminal complaint.

The officer who made the arrest said Plath appeared to be intoxicated, and Plath allegedly blew a .159 blood-alcohol content. A further search of his vehicle allegedly revealed a tupperware container with 22.6 grams of marijuana, as well as a container with 25 Adderall pills. Plath also allegedly had $496 cash in his possession at the time of the arrest.

For this, the officer charged him with marijuana possession with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug stamp, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, two felonies and a misdemeanor.
