Iowa State Patrol: Two Injured After FedEx Semi Accident on Interstate 80 Near Iowa City

Two yet to be identified men were hurt in the accident near Iowa City on Monday.


Two men were hurt when their semi trailer slipped off the Interstate near Iowa City on Monday.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at 7:30 a.m. the FedEx semi truck was pulling two trailers eastbound on Interstate 80 near the 245 mile marker when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck slid into the south ditch, colliding with several trees.  

Both crash victims were men according to the report. However, the identities of the two occupants of the truck are being withheld until family members can be informed, according to the state patrol.

Both men, the driver and his codriver, were transported to University of Iowa Hospitals for evaluation for their injuries.
