Iowa State Patrol: Motorcyclist Thrown from Bike After Collision with Deer

The state patrol has not posted the identity of the driver of the until notifying the family.


An unidentified motorcyclist was taken by Lifeguard helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after an accident involving a collision with a deer Sunday night.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at 7:08 p.m. Sunday evening an individual on a motorcycle was traveling south on Highway 965 just north of County Road F12 when a deer suddenly entered the road, causing a collision.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the vehicle by the collision and the bike came to rest in the southbound lane, according to the report. The driver's identity has not been revealed as authorities have not yet informed the driver's family.
