Iowa City Woman Hospitalized After Black Hawk County Car Accident

Two people were hospitalized after a Friday afternoon accident.

A car accident on a notoriously dangerous stretch of road sent two to the hospital Friday, the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department said.

Loretta Jean White, 51, of Janesville, was traveling east on Cedar Wapsi Road, north of Cedar Falls, around 1 p.m. Authorities said she pulled her 1997 Nissan 200 SX out in front of a GMC Sierra driven by Pamela Sue Miller, 57, of Iowa City, at the Cedar Wapsi Road intersection with Highway 218.

Both had non-life threatening injuries. White was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, and Miller was transported to Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Deputies were assisted by Janesville Fire Department and Sartori Paramedics.

The accident remains under investigation.
