The officers entered there and found a man, later identified as Forrest Kristian Weger, 29, in the school's boiler room reportedly holding a video recorder taken from one of the rooms. Weger told officers that he had entered the building to "see if there was a security system" activated, according to the complaint.
After reviewing the security footage, officers were able to determine that Weger had entered the building with a backpack, which school officials later found near where he was found in the building, according to the complaint.

Inside the backpack officers located a diamond ring and a diamond necklace bought from Hands Jewelers and stolen from nearby Willowwind School. Weger allegedly told police that he had purchased the jewelry for $75 from somebody from Rock-Tenn on March 18. Police were unable to corroborate his version of events, according to the complaint.
Already charged with a Class D felony for the City High incursion, police added a charge of second-degree theft, also a Class D felony, for the alleged jewelry theft. He is now in the Johnson County Jail on combined $17,500 bail.
