Iowa City Police Make Series of Drug-Related Arrests at Town & Campus Apartments

Iowa City police arrested four men in connection to alleged drug activity late last night and early this morning at the same apartment building at 1100 Arthur Street


The past two days have seen a series of drug arrests at the same apartment complex,  

According to criminal complaints, last night at 11:30 p.m., police arrested Dimione Jamal Walker, 19, and Khalil Curtis Walker, 18, after a officer on foot patrol met up with the pair and notified them that one of them had a warrant that needed to be served. While talking to the Walkers, the officer noticed an 8-ball (a common slang term for 3.5 grams) of crack on the ground between the two men. The officer wrote that both men are known to possess and deliver drugs.

Both men were arrested and charged with felony drug possession with intent to deliver and possessing drugs without a tax stamp, also a felony.

An hour later at the same building, police executed a search warrant on Apt. 6 at 12:39 a.m. this morning, finding Omar Deshawn Bibbs, 24, and James Tyree Jordan, 18, both of Iowa City. 

The pair were the only two found in the apartment. A search allegedly revealed a half pound bag of marijuana on the bathroom floor, plus cash, packaging materials, and other items "for the sale/use of illegal drugs," according to the complaint. The two men allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana that evening.

Bibbs and Jordan were also charged with felony drug tax-stamp violations and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
