Iowa City Police Blotter September 17: Accident Leads to OWI Arrest.

Stephanie Marie Pace, 24, of Iowa City, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, for an offense that allegedly occurred on September 16 at 10:07 p.m. at the intersection of Governor and Jefferson Streets. Police say they were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and when they questioned Pace about the accident that she appeared intoxicated and admitted drinking. Police say that when they gave Pace a breathalyzer test she had a blood-alcohol content of .213, and she later blew a .219 at the police station. Police say Pace also admitted to driving down the wrong way of a one way road.

Oliver James Moeller, 22, of 2200 BLOCK I St., Iowa City, was accused of domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury for an offense that allegedly occurred on September 17 at 2:24 a.m. At this time, officers received a call from a female who they met at another location than her residence. Police say this woman said she had been assaulted by Moeller. According to the criminal complaint, the woman said she found Moeller asleep in his own vomit after coming home from the bars, and when she couldn't wake him she told police she decided to pour a cup of water on Moeller. At this, the woman told police that Moeller woke up and grabbed the her by her hair and throat, throwing her on the ground and biting her in the back before having to be held back by a third party. Police say that woman and Moeller have a child together and have been living together for at least a year.
