Iowa City Police Blotter Dec. 7: Man Accused of Trying to Sell Stolen Camera

Josaph Harmon Moore, 36, of Iowa City, was charged with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor, for an offense that allegedly occurred on Nov. 15 at University Camera in Iowa City. According to a criminal complaint, on the above date, Moore allegedly walked into University Camera and sold a Sony NEX 5 camera valued at $700. This camera turned out to be reported stolen from the residence the previous day. After the store owner contacted police, they reportedly contacted Moore, who said he found the camera on the bench near the Tobacco Bowl in the Pedestrian Mall.
