Iowa City Police Blotter: August 25

Lacrecia Joy White, 33, of 1217 Burns Avenue, Iowa City was charged with a controlled substance violation, a felony, for an offense that allegedly occurred on August 25 at 12:52 a.m. Police say White was questioned during a traffic violation at the intersection of Rochester Avenue and Scott Boulevard, and a subsequent search revealed a quantity of heroin in a pill bottle in her purse. Police says White admitted that she had picked up the heroin in Chicago and was driving home to Iowa City when she was stopped.

Natasha Marie Jones, 26, of North Liberty was charged with assault on a police officer for an offense that allegedly occurred on August 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Johnson County Jail. According to criminal complaints, Jones was physically aggressive toward deputies in her cell block. She was placed into a restraint chair after throwing wet toilet paper and threatening to harm herself. While being put into the chair, Jones spit into a deputy's hair and face.

Gabriel Abraham Middaugh, 26, of Iowa City was charged with domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury and unlawful possession of a prescription drug, both serious misdemeanors, for an offense that allegedly occurred on August 24. Police say they responded at 5:16 a.m. to a call of a man and a woman fighting at the 1100 BLOCK of Marcy Street. The man and the woman both lived at the residence, and officers discovered they had been arguing about the woman hiding the man's liqour, with the man turning out to be Middaugh. The woman asked Middaugh to leave several times and shut and locked the door while he was outside. Middaugh unsuccessfully attempted to break down the door, then clambered through the window. Middaugh and the woman continued to argue inside and Middaugh admitted to pushing the woman before leaving. The woman said she was afraid of Middaugh. Middaugh was arrested later by police with two adderall and one clonazepam pills in his possession that belonged to the woman.
