Iowa City Police Arrest Blotter Nov. 13: Man Allegedly Vomits up Marijuana he was Attempting to Conceal

An Iowa City man faced several charges after vomiting up the marijuana he had been allegedly attempting to conceal by ingesting a bag of it.

On Nov. 12, Christopher Williams, 22, of 2208 Miami Drive, Iowa City was charged with marijuana possession and obstruction of justice related to a previous apprehension-- a serious misdemeanor and an aggravated misdemeanor-- after he was stopped by police for having no license plates on his vehicle at 7:04 p.m. at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Taylor Drive. Police say that Williams was arrested following the traffic stop when it was determined that there was a previous valid warrant for his arrest

According to the criminal complaint, while officers were searching the vehicle, Williams began vomitting marijuana. After this, Williams allegedly told police that he had swallowed a bag of marijuana when the police arrived because he had just gotten out of jail and did not want to go back. A week earlier, Williams was charged for allegedly attempting to while being checked into jail.

Another Iowa City man was charged with third-degree criminal mischief after he allegedly broke a table at Old Capitol Brew Works and then ran from the scene.

Police charged Erik Kristian Tefteller, 28, of 630 S. Capitol St., Iowa City with the aggravated misdemeanor charge after Tefteller allegedly was seen walking on the concrete tables on Nov. 12 at 3:15 p.m. Police say Tefteller, who at the time was a patron at the Brew Works, broke one of the tables and then fled on foot. Police say Tefteller was identified by descriptors and a photo and later charged with the crime.

A Cedar Falls teen was arrested for carrying a weapon after his BB gun was allegedly mistaken for the real deal.

Police responded to Kum & Go at 25 W. Burlington Street at 12:19 a.m. on Nov. 12 for the report of a black male with a handgun. Police soon found a young man, Christian Anthony Ford, 18, matching the description his description and upon seeing the officers Ford allegedly took off running west. Police ordered Ford to stop and he did. According to the criminal complaint, police searched Ford's person and found a BB gun in his waistband, with C02 propellant in it, loaded and with the safety off.

Ford allegedly told the police that he had gotten into an argument with another person and that he lifted his shirt to show the BB gun because he was "feeling like a bad (expletive.)" Ford was charged with carrying a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
