Iowa City Man Charged With Bringing Marijuana into Jail Concealed in his Underwear

After being arrested on a warrant, police say they warned Wesley Turner there would be consequences if he brought any drugs to jail with him. This turned out to be the case, police say, when police discovered marijuana hidden in his underwear.

An Iowa City man was unsuccessful yesterday in his attempt to hide marijuana from the police in his underwear, police say.

According to criminal complaints, Wesley Allen Turner, 23, of Iowa City was arrested on an outstanding warrant Thursday. When he was arrested, police discovered a small electronic scale on his person, and police say they warned Turner that it would be a felony if they found drugs on him in jail.

Turner said he didn't have any drugs on him, police said.

Turner was scheduled to make his initial court appearance this morning and was unavailable for comment.
