Will Iowa City see a repeat of flooding like the type that was brought on by heavy rain on April 18? That remains to be seen, but local officials aren't taking any chances of being unprepared for a repeat incident.

The University of Iowa is taking a number of precautionary measures to prepare for potential flooding as the area copes with prolonged rainfall.
Flooding around the state has lead to road closures, and motorists are urged to use caution after an SUV was swept off the road.
The head of emergency management said the county is going through standard procedures to prepare for possible flash flooding; Meanwhile residents of Mayflower Residence Hall may be moved by the University.
