An Iowa City man was arrested for another public intoxication charge after his conversation with a police officer brought attention to himself.

According to a criminal complaint, Nicholas George Trovas, 22, of Iowa City, was charged with public intoxication habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor, after he allegedly got into an argument with a police officer on March 4 at 2:39 a.m. at 210 S. Dubuque St.

According to the officer's account, Trovas approached his unmarked vehicle while walking down an alley carrying beer with him. The officer rolled down his window and asked him if he needed anything, the officer wrote that Trovas "responded with an attitude." The following conversation allegedly ensued:

"No, I don't need anything from you...do I look like I need something from you?"

"Ok, you just started walking up to my car, I thought you needed something," the officer recounted saying. To which Trovers allegedly said.

"I'm going to an after hours party dad, I don't need anything from you."

This prompted the officer to get out of his car and identify himself as an officer and ask Trovas for his identification. The officer said Trovas was exhibiting signs of intoxication, and Trovas was subsequently charged with public intoxication. This was Trovas' third public intox charge, the first two being Jan. 1, 2010 and May 16, 2011.

Another Iowa City man was charged with indecent exposure after a police officer caught him allegedly with his pants literally down in front of Joe's Place at 115 Iowa Ave Saturday night.

According to a criminal complaint, an officer on patrol at the 100 BLOCK of Iowa Avenue stopped and got out of his car after he saw a man with his pants around his ankles in front of Joe's Palace along with a group of four or five people. As he approached the scene, the man, Adam Webster Zwanziger, 35, of Iowa City, allegedly pulled his pants up and buttoned them.

The officer asked Zwanziger why his pants were down, and Zwanziger allegedly said that he "wanted his friends to see it." The officer wrote that Zwanziger's penis was clearly visible as his pants were down and his shirt was being held up by his hands. Zwanziger was also cited for public intoxication.
