Hawkeye Captain Micah Hyde Among Three Iowa Players Arrested

Iowa Hawkeyes players Micah Hyde, Ray Hamilton and Drew Clark were all charged this weekend.

Disappointing news for the Iowa Hawkeyes squad football squad during their bye week this weekend.

Three players have been arrested, including senior captain Micah Hyde, 21, a defensive back from Fostoria, OH. Ray Hamilton and Drew Clark were also charged in separate incidents.

Hyde was among a group of 15 people who would not leave and then fought with staff at Old Capitol Brew Works early Saturday morning, the Iowa City Press-Citizen and the Gazette are reporting. The Gazette cited an Iowa City police report.

The group had started to leave when police arrived but then ran after police ordered them to stop. Hyde was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Ray Hamilton, 19, a sophomore backup tight end from Strongsville, OH, was arrested Pints early Saturday morning. He was charged with being underage in a bar after 10 p.m.

Clark, 22, a junior backup offensive lineman from Marion, was arrested early Friday morning for a public intoxication.

The University of Iowa athletics department has not yet released a statement about the arrests.

Iowa (3-2) next plays Michigan State (4-2) on Oct. 13.

When are you gentlemen going to grow up and become the responsible role models that you are suppose to be. You shame the team, the school, as well as your very large followers, but most of all you shame yourself. You are the ones that give the Hawkeyes a BAD name. There is a time and place for those things that you did. Everytime that one of you guys get in trouble I just want to disown the Hawkeyes as a whole. All that I can do is just shake my head and try to continue on. I have been a follower for 30 plus years. I go to your games to support you and pray that you become model citizen and well as the best college team around. Please think the next time you decide to pick up that acoholic drink and consume, PLEASE!!! GO HAWKEYES!!!

Penn State had much the same creed, and you see what that kind of mindless hero worship led to.

Anything in particular vexing you Maxine? I can't do much about the look but I could help in otherRead More areas.

I have been off the blog since the change. For some reason I couldn't get on. When I would sign in,Read More everything would start flashing and wouldn't stop. Anyway I can't seem to find the regular group and its just confusing. I guess I will get used to it eventually or get so frustrated I give it up.

I can see what you're saying, it's been a bit of a culture shock for the editors as well. We'reRead More working to try to make things easier and more understandable for both regulars and newcomers. The article people seem to be arguing on at the moment is this one: http://iowacity.patch.com/groups/editors-picks/p/iowa-patch-poll-will-iowa-gop-be-able-to-recruit-a-highprofile-candidate-to-challenge-bruce-braley

While i don't support ANYTHING this group does, this isn't right. There is a cancer in the IRS. TheRead More whole organization needs to cleaned out and raise the unemployment rate.

I wouldn't mind seeing *every* group requesting not-for-profit status to be examined. That certainRead More groups are being singled out is inappropriate, whether they be anti-abortion (that's the proper term...we're all "pro-life") or pro-choice or whatever. Examine them all, to the same standards.

No. Didn't work. Okay, now I need to find the article format.

Can't find the article format. I tried.

I totally agree that "growing old isn't for sissies...its for the strong." I will be 60Read More on my next birthday and although I am not looking forward to leaving my 50's, I must admitt that each year comes with a more calming sensibility to it. I see things more clearly now even though forgetfulness is a daily occurance. The laughter of the children is much prettier and the birds chirping is welcoming instead of a nuisence at 5AM.

For tomorrow? I'll ask them and get back to you.

As far as I know still going.
