A Fairfax man was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after sheriff's deputies say sealed baggies of marijuana were found in his car following a vehicle accident.
Deputies say that Douglas Leonard Stepanek, 61, of Fairfax, crashed into a ditch and damaged a fence at the intersection of 120th Street and Falcon Avenue in North Johnson County. According to the criminal complaint, Stepanek fled the scene but was later tracked down by authorities due to his license plate number. Stepanek allegedly then admitted the marijuana belonged to him.
