James “Jim” E. Murphy, 59, Iowa City died Monday, July 21, 2014 following a brief illness.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Paula Stewart of Iowa City, his mother of Waterloo and four brothers.
