OBITUARY: Harley "Bud" D. Emrich
Harley “Bud” D. Emrich, 67, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. The Very Reverend Rudolph Juarez will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Bud was born August 28, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Horace and Aurdena (Sweet) Emrich. Growing up in Tipton, he graduated from Iowa City High School. Bud worked for many years in the kitchens at the Iowa Memorial Union and later with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
He very much enjoyed his favorite television shows and watching movies. He also liked to listen to Elvis and frequented the Dairy Queens as often as possible.
He is survived by his sister Mary (Joe) Robertson of Iowa City; nieces: Joanna Robertson, Elizabeth (Joe Fulton) Jenkins and Heather (Nathan) Loucks; great-nieces and nephews: Michelle, Scott, Stevie, Ella, Adella and Kelton.
His parents died before him.
