Dorothy Marie Skora Alberts, age 84, died Sunday April 6, 2014 with her daughters at her side while at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Dot was born May 29, 1929 and raised in Berea, Ohio, the youngest daughter of Stella Maslinski Skora and Joseph Skora; sister of Florence Skora Pluta, Geraldine (Gerry) Skora Newman and Eugene (Gene) Skora; and mother of Susan A. Alberts and Karin A. Alberts Southard.
On December 29, 1951, she married Robert (Bob) Kirk Alberts in Berea, Ohio. Dot worked as a homemaker and in human services in Greenville Ohio. She and Bob retired to Kettering, Ohio where they lived until 2011. She is survived by her brother, Gene, of Springfield, Virginia; daughters Suzy Alberts and Karin (Tom) Southard.
A private family celebration of her life will be at a later date.
