4 ways to correct your body frame when cycling

Pain in the front part of your knee probably means your seat is too low, raise it!

Thanks to Nor Meyer from Mt. Vernon, Iowa, I received a couple pointers on how to avoid pain when cycling! As an amateur cyclist, I truly appreciate the tips!

  1. Adjust the height of your bike seat first: Find a height so that when your pedal is as far down as it can go, your knee should be bent by 13-15 degrees.
  2. Adjust the bike seat, back or forth along the horizontal: When sitting on the bike and both pedals are parallel with the ground, the knee in front should be right above the pedal, not too far forward and back.
  3. Arm position: arms should not be straight and locked, a small bend is good to help absorb shock.
  4. Shoulders: Relax them! You don't want to be like a turtle hiding your neck as your shoulders rise up. Keep your upper body relaxed and let your legs to the work!

Thanks for the tips, Nor! The pain in my right knee should be going away since I've raised my seat up a little! I'm looking forward to applying these tips on the International Peace Bike Tour in Japan!
